October 30: Organizing for a New Economy
Hear about the growing New Economy movement, based on principles of cooperation, equity, democratic ownership, and ecological sustainability. Speakers will discuss initiatives that radically re-envision and democratize housing, work, and finance; expand economic opportunities in NYC’s low-income neighborhoods and communities of color; and challenge existing institutions and systems that led to the economic crash and have created unprecedented inequality.

December 4: Community Land Trusts in NYC
Learn the ABCs of Community Land Trusts (CLTs), and how community groups have used them to create truly affordable housing, and to combat displacement, gentrification, and homelessness. Hear from CLT organizers, who will describe efforts to establish CLTs in New York City to promote development of housing and green space for and with community members not served by the private housing market.
