We’re Hiring!

posted May 18, 2023

Can you imagine a future rooted in cooperation, neighborhood equity, and ecological sustainability? Are you committed to working for transformational change in our economy and society, putting racial and gender justice front and center?

Join our team! We are hiring for a mid- or senior-level Policy Associate to join our community land trust (CLT) campaign team. The Policy Associate will work with community groups and other coalition members to develop effective policy, funding and organizing strategies that bring land and housing into community ownership. This is a new position and exciting opportunity to join NYC’s growing CLT movement.

Racial Justice & Neighborhood Equity Fellowship

Fellows work at the intersection of economic justice organizing and cooperative economics, with a focus on racial justice and neighborhood equity. The 2023 Fellow will work with New Economy Project staff and partner organizations, for example, on campaigns to advance community land trusts and social housing, worker co-ops, community-based financial co-ops, and public banking. Over the course of the summer, the Fellow will gain exposure to policy advocacy, community and popular education, coalition-building, participatory action research, direct action, and other strategies. The Fellow may also contribute to our GIS mapping, video series, and other media projects. The application period for summer 2023 closed on March 31, 2023.
