Senior Staff Attorney
DESCRIPTION: New Economy Project seeks an experienced attorney to conduct litigation, hotline services, and related advocacy. The senior staff attorney will work closely with the organization’s legal director to help supervise staff attorneys, paralegals, and legal interns. New Economy Project’s legal team works on a wide range of cases in federal and state courts and in administrative proceedings, and provides free legal assistance to the hundreds of low-income New Yorkers who call New Economy Project’s hotline every year. Working closely with the full staff of the organization, the legal team also supports New Economy Project’s coalition and policy advocacy, and communications work.

Semester and Summer Internships
New Economy Project offers undergraduate, graduate, and law internships throughout the year. Interns work closely with staff and partner organizations and gain exposure to timely economic justice initiatives. Intern projects may include, for example:
- contributing to New Economy Project’s podcast and video production
- conducting outreach and co-facilitating community education workshops
- participating in citywide coalitions and campaigns
- preparing research and GIS maps for community groups
- supporting the financial justice hotline and impact litigation
