New Yorkers Rally to Demand Strong Rent Laws

In just one month, New York State rent and co-op protection laws will expire. If they are not renewed, 1 million households currently protected by rent and tenant regulations could be threatened with eviction. Renewal, however, is not enough. The progressive weakening of rent protections over the last two decades has drastically reduced access to affordable housing for New Yorkers. If these laws are not substantially strengthened next month, we will continue to see the erosion of affordable housing in our city.

Affordable housing is essential to the stability  and vitality of our communities. We stand with tenants and allies from across the city to demand that Albany strengthen NYS rent laws.

Join us today at Foley Square, 5pm for a rally and march to demand stronger rent laws.
