A Bank for the Public Good – June 18
New Economy Project, with co-sponsors Americans for Financial Reform, Center for Working Families, and Demos, organized an invitation-only convening on public banking in New York, on June 18, 2015.
The convening brought together leaders from community, labor, civil rights, cooperative and other groups, as well as public banking advocates from around the country. Through panel discussions and strategy sessions, participants explored what a public bank in New York could look like, and began charting out strategies and next steps to launch a public banking campaign in New York.
